Mr. Hanson has over 35 years of Safety, Workers’ Compensation, Benefits and Risk Management experience, including six years with Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel, six years with Firestone Tire and Rubber, and ten years with Dairy Mart. He has extensive background in all areas of Safety and Risk Management, and has achieved an outstanding record of injury and workers’ compensation cost reduction.

Mr. Hanson is active as a speaker and writer and has spoken on the local, state and national level. He has written numerous articles and has been a contributing writer for the Ohio Division of Safety & Hygiene’s Supervisory Safety Guide, Patterns for Progress, for 12 years.

Energy Management is a key component of operational and capital expenditures; however, it is far too often overlooked for its potential to provide the company with cost savings, or even a new revenue stream.  Furthermore, Energy Management is one of the few actions that we can implement today that helps both the business, by reducing capital burden, and the environment, by reducing a company’s carbon footprint.

This presentation will focus on the design and implementations of creative solutions that have reduced the expenses from our customers’ energy and utility spend by 25% to more than 75%, depending upon the industry and other factors.  Lighting is definitely the lowest hanging fruit when it comes to starting the savings discussion.

Our presenter will be Adam Edrington, Vice President, m.a.c. Paran Consulting Services, Inc.  Adam is responsible for the company’s energy efficiency services. Piloting this initiative, Adam has completed energy efficiency projects at over 2,000,000 square feet of various types of facilities. Those facilities where he has successfully completed energy efficiency projects include manufacturing, office, laboratories, warehouse, distribution, and residential. Projects include facility wide lighting retrofits, HVAC, boiler systems, building automation systems, loop control systems, and more. For each project, Adam tailors a solution around the quickest investment payback period for the customer. To achieve this, he takes advantage of existing rebate and incentive programs while engineering the best long term solutions.

The Forest Park Chamber of Commerce is hosting Congressman Steve Chabot for a Small Business Roundtable. Come join Congressman Chabot and other businessmen and women in Forest Park to discuss the issues you’re facing in the business arena. Congressman Chabot will also give an update on issues in Congress affecting the business community. A continental breakfast will be served.

Congressman Steve Chabot has served as Congressman in Ohio’s First Congressional District for fifteen years. Prior to his election to Congress in 1994, Chabot served on Cincinnati City Council and the Hamilton County Commission for four years on each body. He currently serves on the Judiciary, Foreign Affairs and Small Business Committees. Congressman Chabot is one of Congress’s leading advocates for fiscal responsibility. Nonpartisan taxpayer advocacy groups such as the National Taxpayers Union consistently rate him as one of the most pro-taxpayer members of Congress.

Wetherill, MS Health and Wellness Consultant from USI Insurance who will discuss “Understanding cholesterol, high blood pressure, and glucose: what every CEO, CFO, and HR manager should know.”

Mr. Wetherill will explain why it is important for companies to focus on basic health education for their employees and spouses/dependents. He will also provide an overview of low-cost options for implementing a successful wellness program. Companies that have an employee wellness program can expect lower healthcare costs, higher productivity, less absenteeism, and a healthier, happier workforce.
