Start off the New Year right by attending our luncheon series on health and wellness topics. On January 10 our topic will be “Providing a Resourceful Solution to a Return to Work program” and that will be followed with our February 14 topic on “Understanding cholesterol, high blood pressure, and glucose: what every CEO, CFO, and HR manager should know.”

Our January 10 speakers will be Roche Croy, ATC/L, CWCE, Director of Industrial Rehabilitation and Brian Hoffman, PT, Clinic Director, both with Sports Therapy, Inc. They will discuss the most common work related injuries and various ways to prevent these injuries from happening in the first place. By attending the luncheon, you will have a better understanding about the appropriate progression through injury recovery and Return to Work (RTW).

Our February 14 presenter will be Lindsay D. Wetherill, MS Health and Wellness Consultant from USI Insurance who will discuss “Understanding cholesterol, high blood pressure, and glucose: what every CEO, CFO, and HR manager should know.”

Mr. Wetherill will explain why it is important for companies to focus on basic health education for their employees and spouses/dependents. He will also provide an overview of low-cost options for implementing a successful wellness program. Companies that have an employee wellness program can expect lower healthcare costs, higher productivity, less absenteeism, and a healthier, happier workforce.

RCP Power Lunch – October 19, 2011

The presenter will be Cornelius McGrady, Consumer Educator from the Consumer Division of the Ohio Attorney General’s office in Columbus. He will present a workshop called “Supporting Ohio Small Business” that helps small business owners understand Ohio’s consumer laws and recognize scams that target their organizations. A few of the topics addressed during the workshop include:

o Advertising guidelines
o Cancellation rights of consumers
o The Deposit Rule
o Gift card requirements
o Refund Policies

The Attorney General’s Office receives tens of thousands of complaints each year on scammers who defraud both consumers and businesses. In addition to the information provided on Ohio’s consumer laws, Cornelius will discuss common scams the office sees that target businesses and how you can avoid becoming a victim.

Members of the RCP participating chambers (Evendale, Forest Park, Reading, Norwood, Springdale, and Woodlawn) are welcome to bring company brochures to the power lunch as display tables will be set up.
